1 Samuel 17:33-37
33) Saul said to David, You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
34) David said to Saul, Your servant was keeping his father‘s sheep; and when there came a lion, or a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock,
35) I went out after him, and struck him, and delivered it out of his mouth; and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and struck him, and killed him.
36) Your servant struck both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.
37) David said, Yahweh who delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. Saul said to David, Go, and Yahweh shall be with you.
2 Samuel 23:20-22
20) Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he killed the two [sons of] Ariel of Moab: he went down also and killed a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.
21) He killed an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian‘s hand, and killed him with his own spear.
22) These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.
Psalm 22:11-21
11) Don‘t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is none to help.
12) Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.
13) They open their mouths wide against me, Lions tearing prey and roaring.
14) I am poured out like water. All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; It is melted within me.
15) My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.
16) For dogs have surrounded me. A company of evil-doers have enclosed me. They pierced my hands and my feet.
17) I can count all of my bones. They look and stare at me.
18) They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.
19) But don‘t be far off, Yahweh. You are my help: hurry to help me.
20) Deliver my soul from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog.
21) Save me from the lion‘s mouth; Yes, from the horns of the wild oxen you have answered me.
Isaiah 11:6-10,
6) The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them.
7) The cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8) The sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder‘s den.
9) They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea.
10) It shall happen in that day, that the root of Jesse, who stands for an ensign of the peoples, to him shall the nations seek; and his resting-place shall be glorious.
2 Timothy 4:16-18
16) At my first defense, no one took my part, but all left me. May it not be held against them.
17) But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18) And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me to his heavenly kingdom; to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
