Numbers 11:10-29
10) Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent: and the anger of Yahweh was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased.
11) Moses said to Yahweh, Why have you dealt ill with your servant? and why haven‘t I found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me?
12) Have I conceived all this people? have I brought them forth, that you should tell me, Carry them in your bosom, as a nursing-father carries the sucking child, to the land which you swore to their fathers?
13) Whence should I have flesh to give to all this people? for they weep to me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.
14) I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.
15) If you deal thus with me, please kill me out of hand, if I have found favor in your sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.
16) Yahweh said to Moses, Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them to the tent of meeting, that they may stand there with you.
17) I will come down and talk with you there: and I will take of the Spirit which is on you, and will put it on them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you not bear it yourself alone.
18) Say you to the people, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and you shall eat flesh; for you have wept in the ears of Yahweh, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore Yahweh will give you flesh, and you shall eat.
19) You shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days,
20) but a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome to you; because that you have rejected Yahweh who is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
21) Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and you have said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.
22) Shall flocks and herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?
23) Yahweh said to Moses, Has Yahweh‘s hand grown short? now shall you see whether my word shall happen to you or not.
24) Moses went out, and told the people the words of Yahweh: and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the Tent.
25) Yahweh came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders: and it happened that when the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.
26) But there remained two men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the Spirit rested on them; and they were of those who were written, but had not gone out to the Tent; and they prophesied in the camp.
27) There ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.
28) Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered, My lord Moses, forbid them.
29) Moses said to him, Are you jealous for my sake? would that all Yahweh‘s people were prophets, that Yahweh would put his Spirit on them!
Acts 2:1-17
1) Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2) Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3) Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and it sat on each one of them.
4) They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
5) Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.
6) When this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.
7) They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Behold, aren‘t all these who speak Galileans?
8) How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?
9) Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,
10) Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11) Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!"
12) They were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, "What does this mean?"
13) Others, mocking, said, "They are filled with new wine."
14) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke out to them, "You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15) For these aren‘t drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day.
16) But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
17) ‘It will be in the last days, says God, I will pour forth of my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.
Acts 2:41-47
41) Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
42) They continued steadfastly in the apostles‘ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
43) Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
44) All who believed were together, and had all things common.
45) They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.
46) Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
47) praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.
Acts 4:31-35
31) When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
32) The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things common.
33) With great power, the apostles gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Great grace was on them all.
34) For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35) and laid them at the apostles‘ feet, and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.
2 Corinthians 3:1-8
1) Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you?
2) You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men;
3) being revealed that you are a letter of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh.
4) Such confidence we have through Christ toward God;
5) not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God;
6) who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit. For the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.
7) But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face; which was passing away:
8) won‘t rather service of the spirit be rather with more glory?
Galatians 5:22-26
22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23) gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
24) Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
25) If we live by the Spirit, let‘s also walk by the Spirit.
26) Let‘s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.
Ephesians 5:18-21
18) Don‘t be drunken with wine, in which is an abandoned life, but be filled with the Spirit,
19) speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and singing praises in your heart to the Lord;
20) giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;
21) subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.
