Numbers 31:1-20
1) Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
2) Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shall you be gathered to your people.
3) Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm you men from among you for the war, that they may go against Midian, to execute Yahweh‘s vengeance on Midian.
4) Of every tribe one thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall you send to the war.
5) So there were delivered, out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6) Moses sent them, one thousand of every tribe, to the war, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
7) They warred against Midian, as Yahweh commanded Moses; and they killed every male.
8) They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain: Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they killed with the sword.
9) The children of Israel took captive the women of Midian and their little ones; and all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods, they took for a prey.
10) All their cities in the places in which they lived, and all their encampments, they burnt with fire.
11) They took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of man and of animal.
12) They brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan at Jericho.
13) Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them outside of the camp.
14) Moses was angry with the officers of the host, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
15) Moses said to them, Have you saved all the women alive?
16) Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against Yahweh in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of Yahweh.
17) Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him.
18) But all the girls, who have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19) Encamp you outside of the camp seven days: whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
20) As to every garment, and all that is made of skin, and all work of goats‘ [hair], and all things made of wood, you shall purify yourselves.
Deuteronomy 7:1-16
1) When Yahweh your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before you, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than you;
2) and when Yahweh your God shall deliver them up before you, and you shall strike them; then you shall utterly destroy them: you shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them;
3) neither shall you make marriages with them; your daughter you shall not give to his son, nor his daughter shall you take to your son.
4) For he will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of Yahweh be kindled against you, and he will destroy you quickly.
5) But thus shall you deal with them: you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their engraved images with fire.
6) For you are a holy people to Yahweh your God: Yahweh your God has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.
7) Yahweh didn‘t set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all peoples:
8) but because Yahweh loves you, and because he would keep the oath which he swore to your fathers, has Yahweh brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
9) Know therefore that Yahweh your God, he is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and lovingkindness with them who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations,
10) and repays those who hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him who hates him, he will repay him to his face.
11) You shall therefore keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command you this day, to do them.
12) It shall happen, because you listen to these ordinances, and keep and do them, that Yahweh your God will keep with you the covenant and the lovingkindness which he swore to your fathers:
13) and he will love you, and bless you, and multiply you; he will also bless the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock, in the land which he swore to your fathers to give you.
14) You shall be blessed above all peoples: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
15) Yahweh will take away from you all sickness; and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you know, will he put on you, but will lay them on all those who hate you.
16) You shall consume all the peoples who Yahweh your God shall deliver to you; your eye shall not pity them: neither shall you serve their gods; for that will be a snare to you.
Deuteronomy 20:10-18
10) When you draw near to a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace to it.
11) It shall be, if it make you answer of peace, and open to you, then it shall be, that all the people who are found therein shall become tributary to you, and shall serve you.
12) If it will make no peace with you, but will make war against you, then you shall besiege it:
13) and when Yahweh your God delivers it into your hand, you shall strike every male of it with the edge of the sword:
14) but the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil of it, shall you take for a prey to yourself; and you shall eat the spoil of your enemies, which Yahweh your God has given you.
15) Thus shall you do to all the cities which are very far off from you, which are not of the cities of these nations.
16) But of the cities of these peoples, that Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes;
17) but you shall utterly destroy them: the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; as Yahweh your God has commanded you;
18) that they not teach you to do after all their abominations, which they have done to their gods; so would you sin against Yahweh your God.
Deuteronomy 25:17-19
17) Remember what Amalek did to you by the way as you came forth out of Egypt;
18) how he met you by the way, and struck the hindmost of you, all who were feeble behind you, when you were faint and weary; and he didn‘t fear God.
19) Therefore it shall be, when Yahweh your God has given you rest from all your enemies round about, in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it, that you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky; you shall not forget.
Joshua 6:1-21
1) Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
2) Yahweh said to Joshua, Behold, I have given into your hand Jericho, and the king of it, and the mighty men of valor.
3) You shall compass the city, all the men of war, going about the city once. Thus shall you do six days.
4) Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams‘ horns before the ark: and the seventh day you shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.
5) It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram‘s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall go up every man straight before him.
6) Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams‘ horns before the ark of Yahweh.
7) They said to the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let the armed men pass on before the ark of Yahweh.
8) It was so, that when Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams‘ horns before Yahweh passed on, and blew the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of Yahweh followed them.
9) The armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rearward went after the ark, [the priests] blowing the trumpets as they went.
10) Joshua commanded the people, saying, You shall not shout, nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall you shout.
11) So he caused the ark of Yahweh to compass the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.
12) Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of Yahweh.
13) The seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams‘ horns before the ark of Yahweh went on continually, and blew the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; and the rearward came after the ark of Yahweh, [the priests] blowing the trumpets as they went.
14) The second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
15) It happened on the seventh day, that they rose early at the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on the day they compassed the city seven times.
16) It happened at the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, Shout; for Yahweh has given you the city.
17) The city shall be devoted, even it and all that is therein, to Yahweh: only Rahab the prostitute shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18) But as for you, only keep yourselves from the devoted thing, lest when you have devoted it, you take of the devoted thing; so would you make the camp of Israel accursed, and trouble it.
19) But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are holy to Yahweh: they shall come into the treasury of Yahweh.
20) So the people shouted, and [the priests] blew the trumpets; and it happened, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
21) They utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, and sheep, and donkey, with the edge of the sword.
Judges 2:1-5
1) The angel of Yahweh came up from Gilgal to Bochim. He said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you to the land which I swore to your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you:
2) and you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall break down their altars. But you have not listened to my voice: why have you done this?
3) Therefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be [as thorns] in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare to you.
4) It happened, when the angel of Yahweh spoke these words to all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
5) They called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there to Yahweh.
Matthew 24:6-8
6) You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren‘t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.
7) For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places.
8) But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.
Matthew 28:19-20
19) Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20) teaching them to observe all things which I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
Romans 12:18
18) If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
Ephesians 6:11-13
11) Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12) For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world‘s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13) Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.
2 Timothy 2:1-4
1) You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2) The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
3) You therefore must endure hardship, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4) No soldier on service entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.
