Isaiah 9:13-21
13) Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought Yahweh of Hosts.
14) Therefore Yahweh will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm-branch and rush, in one day.
15) The elder and the honorable man, he is the head; and the prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.
16) For those who lead this people cause them to err; and those who are led of them are destroyed.
17) Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is profane and an evil-doer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
18) For wickedness burns as the fire; it devours the briers and thorns; yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.
19) Through the wrath of Yahweh of hosts is the land burnt up; and the people are as the fuel of fire: no man spares his brother.
20) One shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
21) Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Isaiah 11:1-10
1) There shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots shall bear fruit.
2) The Spirit of Yahweh shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.
3) His delight shall be in the fear of Yahweh; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither decide after the hearing of his ears;
4) but with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips shall he kill the wicked.
5) Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.
6) The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them.
7) The cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8) The sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder‘s den.
9) They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea.
10) It shall happen in that day, that the root of Jesse, who stands for an ensign of the peoples, to him shall the nations seek; and his resting-place shall be glorious.
Jeremiah 3:6-13
6) Moreover Yahweh said to me in the days of Josiah the king, Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? she is gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there has played the prostitute.
7) I said after she had done all these things, She will return to me; but she didn‘t return: and her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8) I saw, when, for this very cause that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a bill of divorce, yet treacherous Judah, her sister, didn‘t fear; but she also went and played the prostitute.
9) It happened through the lightness of her prostitution, that the land was polluted, and she committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
10) Yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not returned to me with her whole heart, but only in pretense, says Yahweh.
11) Yahweh said to me, Backsliding Israel has showed herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.
12) Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Israel, says Yahweh; I will not look in anger on you; for I am merciful, says Yahweh, I will not keep [anger] forever.
13) Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against Yahweh your God, and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed my voice, says Yahweh.
Ezekiel 37:15-23
15) The word of Yahweh came again to me, saying,
16) You, son of man, take one stick, and write on it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write on it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and [for] all the house of Israel his companions:
17) and join them for you one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand.
18) When the children of your people shall speak to you, saying, Will you not show us what you mean by these?
19) tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions; and I will put them with it, [even] with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand.
20) The sticks whereon you write shall be in your hand before their eyes.
21) Say to them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, where they are gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
22) and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all; and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all;
23) neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will save them out of all their dwelling-places, in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
Hosea 8:1-9
1) [Set] the trumpet to your mouth. As an eagle [he comes] against the house of Yahweh, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
2) They shall cry to me, My God, we Israel know you.
3) Israel has cast off that which is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
4) They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I didn‘t know it: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5) He has cast off your calf, Samaria; my anger is kindled against them: how long will it be before they attain to innocence?
6) For from Israel is even this; the workman made it, and it is no God; yes, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7) For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: he has no standing grain; the blade shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.
8) Israel is swallowed up: now are they among the nations as a vessel in which none delights.
9) For they are gone up to Assyria, [like] a wild donkey alone by himself: Ephraim has hired lovers.
Joel 2:12-17
12) "Yet even now," says Yahweh, "turn to me with all your heart, And with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning."
13) Tear your heart, and not your garments, And turn to Yahweh, your God; For he is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, And relents from sending calamity.
14) Who knows? He may turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind him, Even a meal offering and a drink offering to Yahweh, your God.
15) Blow the trumpet in Zion! Sanctify a fast. Call a solemn assembly.
16) Gather the people. Sanctify the assembly. Assemble the elders. Gather the children, and those who suck the breasts. Let the bridegroom go forth from his room, And the bride out of her chamber.
17) Let the priests, the ministers of Yahweh, weep between the porch and the altar, And let them say, "Spare your people, Yahweh, And don‘t give your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?‘"
Zephaniah 3:14-20
14) Sing, daughter of Zion! Shout, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem.
15) Yahweh has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is in the midst of you. You will not be afraid of evil any more.
16) In that day, it will be said to Jerusalem, "Don‘t be afraid, Zion. Don‘t let your hands be slack."
17) Yahweh, your God, is in the midst of you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will rest in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.
18) Those who are sad for the appointed feasts, I will remove from you. They are a burden and a reproach to you.
19) Behold, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you, and I will save those who are lame, and gather those who were driven away. I will give them praise and honor, whose shame has been in all the earth.
20) At that time will I bring you in, and at that time will I gather you; for I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I bring back your captivity before your eyes, says Yahweh.
