While the word "Trinity" does not appear in the Bible, this term reflects how Scripture describes God: He is one essence, distinguished in three co-equal, co-eternal Persons. One might ask, however, "Why is it important to study the Trinity?"
Our world is filled with misconceptions about who God is and what it means to follow Him. Sadly, Christians are not immune to the subtle dangers found in allowing secular forces to influence how we perceive God. This lesson can help us better understand what Scripture teaches about God, culminating in the powerful declaration that God is love. As we gain a fuller understanding of the Trinity, we are better equipped to appreciate our relationship with God and embrace what it means to walk with Him.

28) One of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, "What commandment is the greatest of all?"
29) Jesus answered, "The greatest is, ‘Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one:
30) you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.‘ This is the primary commandment.
Luke 3:21-22
21) Now it happened, when all the people were baptized, that, Jesus also having been baptized, and praying, the sky was opened,
22) and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, on him, and a voice came out of the sky, saying "You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased."
John 5:16-21
16) For this cause the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill him, because he did these things on the Sabbath.
17) But Jesus answered them, "My Father is still working, so I am working, too."
18) For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
19) Jesus therefore answered them, "Most assuredly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise.
20) For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does. He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
21) For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.
1 Corinthians 8:4-6
4) Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
5) For though there are things that are called "gods," whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many "gods" and many "lords;"
6) yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we to him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him.
2 Corinthians 13:14
14) The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
