Luke 24:46-49
46) He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
47) and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48) You are witnesses of these things.
49) Behold, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high."
Acts 2:1-4
1) Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2) Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3) Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and it sat on each one of them.
4) They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
Acts 6:1-7
1) Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a grumbling of the Grecian Jews against the Hebrews because their widows were neglected in the daily service.
2) The twelve called the multitude of the disciples to them and said, "It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.
3) Therefore select from among you, brothers, seven men of good report, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
4) But we will continue steadfastly in prayer and in the ministry of the word."
5) These words pleased the whole multitude. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch;
6) whom they set before the apostles. When they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
7) The word of God increased and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem exceedingly. A great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
Acts 8:5-8
5) Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Christ.
6) The multitudes listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philip, when they heard and saw the signs which he did.
7) For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.
8) There was great joy in that city.
Acts 13:2-3
2) As they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Separate Barnabas and Saul for me, for the work to which I have called them."
3) Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
1 Timothy 3:8-13
8) Deacons, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money;
9) holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10) Let them also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, if they are blameless.
11) Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.
12) Let deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13) For those who have served well as deacons gain to themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 4:5
5) But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry.
