Genesis 19:1-24
1) The two angels came to Sodom at evening. Lot sat in the gate of Sodom. Lot saw them, and rose up to meet them. He bowed himself with his face to the earth,
2) and he said, "See now, my lords, please turn aside into your servant‘s house, stay all night, wash your feet, and you will rise up early, and go on your way." They said, "No, but we will stay in the street all night."
3) He urged them greatly, and they came in with him, and entered into his house. He made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4) But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter.
5) They called to Lot, and said to him, "Where are the men who came in to you this night? Bring them out to us, that we may have sex with them."
6) Lot went out to them to the door, and shut the door after him.
7) He said, "Please, my brothers, don‘t act so wickedly.
8) See now, I have two virgin daughters. Please let me bring them out to you, and do you to them as is good in your eyes. Only don‘t do anything to these men, because they have come under the shadow of my roof."
9) They said, "Stand back!" They said, "This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he appoints himself a judge. Now will we deal worse with you, than with them!" They pressed hard on the man, even Lot, and drew near to break the door.
10) But the men put forth their hand, and brought Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.
11) They struck the men who were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
12) The men said to Lot, "Do you have you anybody else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whoever you have in the city, bring them out of the place:
13) for we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is grown great before Yahweh. Yahweh has sent us to destroy it."
14) Lot went out, and spoke to his sons-in-law, who married his daughters, and said, "Get up! Get out of this place, for Yahweh will destroy the city." But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be joking.
15) When the morning arose, then the angels hurried Lot, saying, "Arise, take your wife, and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the iniquity of the city."
16) But he lingered; and the men laid hold on his hand, and on the hand of his wife, and on the hand of his two daughters, Yahweh being merciful to him; and they took him out, and set him outside of the city.
17) It came to pass, when they had taken them out, that he said, "Escape for your life! Don‘t look behind you, neither stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountain, lest you be consumed!"
18) Lot said to them, "Oh, not so, my lord.
19) See now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your lovingkindness, which you have showed to me in saving my life. I can‘t escape to the mountain, lest evil overtake me, and I die.
20) See now, this city is near to flee to, and it is a little one. Oh let me escape there (isn‘t it a little one?), and my soul will live."
21) He said to him, "Behold, I have accepted you concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken.
22) Hurry, escape there, for I can‘t do anything until you get there." Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23) The sun was risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar.
24) Then Yahweh rained on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulfur and fire from Yahweh out of the sky.
Leviticus 18:22-30
22) You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
23) You shall not lie with any animal to defile yourself therewith; neither shall any woman stand before a animal, to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
24) Don‘t defile yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out from before you;
25) The land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity of it on it, and the land vomits out her inhabitants.
26) You therefore shall keep my statutes and my ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the home-born, nor the stranger who sojourns among you;
27) (for all these abominations have the men of the land done, that were before you, and the land is defiled);
28) that the land not vomit you out also, when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.
29) For whoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people.
30) Therefore shall you keep my charge, that you not practice any of these abominable customs, which were practiced before you, and that you not defile yourselves therein: I am Yahweh your God.
Leviticus 20:13
13) If a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be on them.
Romans 1:18-32
18) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the truth in unrighteousness,
19) because that which is known by God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them.
20) For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse.
21) Because, knowing God, they didn‘t glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.
22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23) and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.
24) Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves,
25) who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26) For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature.
27) Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.
28) Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
29) being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers,
30) backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31) without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;
32) who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also consent with those who practice them.
Romans 6:1-14
1) What will we say then? Will we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2) Certainly not! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
3) Or don‘t you know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
4) We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
5) For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;
6) knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
7) For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8) But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;
9) knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him!
10) For the death that he died, he died to sin once; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.
11) Thus also consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12) Therefore don‘t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13) Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
14) For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.
Romans 6:18-23
18) Being made free from sin, you became servants of righteousness.
19) I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification.
20) For when you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
21) What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
22) But now, being made free from sin, and having become servants of God, you have your fruit of sanctification, and the result of eternal life.
23) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9) Or don‘t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Don‘t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,
10) nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the kingdom of God.
