Exodus 20:12
12) "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.
2 Kings 2:5-14
5) The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came near to Elisha, and said to him, "Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from your head today?" He answered, "Yes, I know it. Hold your peace."
6) Elijah said to him, "Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me to the Jordan." He said, "As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you." They two went on.
7) Fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood over against them afar off: and they two stood by the Jordan.
8) Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and struck the waters, and they were divided here and there, so that they two went over on dry ground.
9) It happened, when they had gone over, that Elijah said to Elisha, Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you. Elisha said, please let a double portion of your spirit be on me.
10) He said, You have asked a hard thing: [nevertheless], if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so to you; but if not, it shall not be so.
11) It happened, as they still went on, and talked, that behold, [there appeared] a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, which parted them both apart; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12) Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen of it! He saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and tore them in two pieces.
13) He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of the Jordan.
14) He took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and struck the waters, and said, Where is Yahweh, the God of Elijah? and when he also had struck the waters, they were divided here and there; and Elisha went over.
1 Corinthians 16:14
14) Let all that you do be done in love.
1 Timothy 5:1-11
1) Don‘t rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;
2) the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.
3) Honor widows who are widows indeed.
4) But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
5) Now she who is a widow indeed, and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.
6) But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.
7) Also command these things, that they may be without reproach.
8) But if anyone doesn‘t provide for his own, and specially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
9) Let none be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,
10) well reported of for good works; if she has brought up children, if she has used hospitality to strangers, if she has washed the saints‘ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.
11) But refuse younger widows, for when they have grown wanton against Christ, they desire to marry;
2 Timothy 1:5-6
5) having been reminded of the unfeigned faith that is in you; which lived first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and, I am persuaded, in you also.
6) For this cause, I remind you that you should stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
2 Timothy 4:6-8
6) For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.
7) I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.
8) From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
