Matthew 5:43-48
43) "You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.‘
44) But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
45) that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
46) For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don‘t even the tax collectors do the same?
47) If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don‘t even the tax collectors do the same?
48) Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Luke 18:1-10
1) He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,
2) saying, "A certain judge was in a city, who didn‘t fear God, and didn‘t respect man.
3) A widow was in that city, and she came often to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!‘
4) He wouldn‘t for a while, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I don‘t fear God, nor respect man,
5) yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.‘"
6) The Lord said, "Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7) Won‘t God avenge his elect, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8) I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
9) He spoke also this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others.
10) "Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
