John 2:1-11
1) The third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. Jesus‘ mother was there.
2) Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage.
3) When the wine ran out, Jesus‘ Mother said to him, "They have no wine."
4) Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come."
5) His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do it."
6) Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews‘ manner of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece.
7) Jesus said to them, "Fill the water pots with water." They filled them up to the brim.
8) He said to them, "Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast." They took it.
9) When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn‘t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom,
10) and said to him, "Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!"
11) This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory. His disciples believed in him.
2 Kings 4:1-7
1) Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets to Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead; and you know that your servant did fear Yahweh: and the creditor is come to take to him my two children to be bondservants.
2) Elisha said to her, What shall I do for you? tell me; what have you in the house? She said, Your handmaid has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.
3) Then he said, Go, borrow you vessels abroad of all your neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
4) You shall go in, and shut the door on you and on your sons, and pour out into all those vessels; and you shall set aside that which is full.
5) So she went from him, and shut the door on her and on her sons; they brought [the vessels] to her, and she poured out.
6) It happened, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, Bring me yet a vessel. He said to her, There isn‘t another vessel. The oil stayed.
7) Then she came and told the man of God. He said, Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt, and live you and your sons of the rest.
