Romans 6:1-14
1) What will we say then? Will we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2) Certainly not! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
3) Or don‘t you know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
4) We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
5) For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;
6) knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
7) For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8) But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;
9) knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him!
10) For the death that he died, he died to sin once; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.
11) Thus also consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12) Therefore don‘t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13) Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
14) For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.
Romans 8:7
7) because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God‘s law, neither indeed can it be.

Lastly guy I spoke about about capturing an attitude. While this is capturing the attitude, the sequel part two, and whenever we think about capturing an attitude. I was a given. The concept of how that often we think that attitudes are something that we just pick up from situations that attitudes are something that we have that reflects on how we deal with situations and although we deal with life. So what if. Hopefully we been able to think about that. This past week about our attitudes and how what kind of an attitude we have captured and often what we capture becomes us, so we want to look at our life. And as we think of being captured. We were capturing the attitude of being appraised praise the God we are capturing the attitude of thankfulness and gratitude of that we are to live our life in light of eternity that God is shining his light on us. We spoke about that in Sunday school of how that eternity future is shining back on our life and from that perspective we make decisions today, based upon what's going to happen in eternity. We don't make our decisions based on yesterday yesterday in our past. This frozen in time, and it doesn't change it's like watching old moving there and they never changes. So we've got to deal with the past and not allow the past shadow to be cast over the present so that we are making decisions in the dark about not knowing what to do and where to go. So as we find forgiveness in Christ we find the letting go of the past, learning from it. Being able to go. I can remember it, but it's not going to determine where I'm going with my life because the light of eternity, the light of Christ is shining on my life is word is alive into my path solid like our lives, so capturing an attitude then capturing the added through the Christ is with me capturing the attitude that he has forgiven me of my sins, union that we are with Christ and Christ is with us that we are with him for an eternity, and we're beginning that eternity now, so allowing the power of Christ to live in our hearts and lives in a way that we're making decisions about where were going, making decisions based upon what Christ wants in our life so capture every thought that leads to obedience. It's almost impossible to imagine how many thoughts we have a day. I mean, how many thoughts run through your head and you know some people, their thoughts are much faster than others, and I'm always amazed that people who are extremely intelligent, something they called attention deficit disorder, you know, but the idea is that their minds. It never stops that they are so nevermind. It's so fast in thinking that it was just like their ten miles ahead of where their mouth is enough. Whenever we read that working at the hospital and the scientists that were working at the research center there were a number of scientists that had that whenever they took their ACPs in others, the college boards and stuff like that. There was a number of them had perfect scores, yell, and I mean you know I have perfect score. You had it up off the mind and still came here to the perfect score, but they doubt the idea was that they were extremely intelligent and they were very intelligent and an being able to map the genogram learned the genomes of of of the system of the of the body being you put all that together, so there is capturing attitude is capturing what we thinking capturing what we want to think about how they were going to do it and how they were going to proceed with our decision. So the attitude of Christ have to captivate our lives. We have to be captivated with one Christ and what God is trying to tell us in Romans chapter six to begin at verse one and I'll read through first fourteen and it's a very important part of our captaining captivating slots will read it. So what do they do and this is Paul writing to the church of Rome and the church of Rome 's has a problem. The charger Ron is trying to figure out how that they are to live the Christian life, and then heard about Christ forgiveness. They've heard about how the gob wants to be involved in their life in Christ is found disabled from their sins and how that God 's grace and mercy is extended towards them, but they had this idea that Bob God really get pleasure out of forgiving us why we just keep on sending make God happy. That's the first one is, so what do we do keep on sinning so got to keep on forgiving. Paul says I should hope not. If we've left the country, and this is the analogy of being forgiven if we've left the country worse in the sovereign. How can we still live our own house. There, or didn't you realize, we packed up and left there for good. That is what happened in baptism when we went under the water. We left the old country of sin behind when we came up out of the water. We entered into the new country of grace, a new life in a new land. That's what baptism, unto the life of Jesus means when we are lowered into the water is like the burial of Jesus when we are raised up out of the water. It is like the resurrection of Jesus Dave Thomas is raised into the light field world of our father so that we can see where were going in our new grace sovereign country couldn't be any clearer. Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ. A decisive into that sin miserable life no longer acts in every beck and call what we believe is this if we get included in Christ 's in conquering death. We also get included in his life saving resurrection capturing the thoughts as we look at this one audio capturing the thought of a resurrected life, capturing the thought that thereof. The newness we have in Christ. We go on. We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead. It was a signal of the income the death at the end. Never again will death have the back last word when Jesus died, he took send down within, but alive. He brings God down to us from now on. Think of it this way, still speaks a death language that means nothing to you, God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word you are dead to sin and alive to God. That's what Jesus did. That means you must not give sin of votes in the way that you conduct your lives don't give at the time of day don't even one little errands that are connected with that old way of life for yourself wholeheartedly in full-time. Remember, you've been raised from the dead into God 's way of doing things. Satan can't tell you how to live after all, you're not living under that old tyranny any longer. You're living in the freedom of God capturing our thoughts. Sometimes we look at this and look at our life. We become confused during the computers about life confused about where my going, what were doing and how were going to get there while if you haven't talk to me all confusion, and so you know where you're going to feel like you know, but there is these these concepts in these constant changes in our life. The ring to last where they do and bring to us confusing up as I should initially go there; should I go right, you know, you get out the Garmin tell you I I love the garment in is just another woman tell newer to go in. I see Gabby Garman 's original calls and calls her daddy gone to get a government if their ego enough. That's angrily, we can get all those places of the of attitudes, but capturing an attitude is more than just capturing an attitude is actions that follow a post on a perspective actions. The following perspective so my attitude is an action that will follow how I see things and what we are wanting to see is God 's perspective. That's the challenge of being a Christian. We want to follow God 's perspective, enigmatic and if I remember when people there be between making these decisions and their scent on it. While this person think that this person thinks that this person think that this is when I've got the solution for you. You put an ad in the paper and have people vote and whatever comes up as the majority. That's what she'll do all I would never do that will then stop listening to everybody's telling you what to do because it doesn't matter what everybody says it matters what you know God wants you to do a perception of what God wants and then and a following through with choices capturing added to God 's will is going to be my will, no matter what happens in my life. So we are focused on that and that's the attitude we want to capture the IW story about the idea cats, monkeys, the number that when creditors might never know you have a barrel is what they do. I told the story and a doctor around. Said that's how we used to do this case in the Philippines and we get a barrel and you would cut a hole in the barrel about the size of a monkeys paw hand, whatever Angela put something in there that they want bananas or fruit, whatever they were reached through there and grab hold of it, but once they made a face. They couldn't get out. They were caught, they didn't know enough to let go and in our life. We have things that we reach and grab hold on men were try were trapped by our old ones. And God is saying God is telling us and helping us that we are to let go of our ones and see what God wants of our life and what God wants of our life is about forgiveness about love, about the direction about piece about joy that God has so many plans for us than we can even imagine what he has in store for us. But you know what were caught wereed and what we perceive God to want and we end up being captured by our wines and not fulfilling what God 's direction is allowing ourselves to let go of certain things in our life that are destroying us certain things are I caused this pain of separation. Notwithstanding said is separation from God, and actually said is separating ourselves who we were created to be. God wants to set us free from those things solve that the decisions we are making our decisions that God wants to fulfill inside of us and fulfill with what we do because we are stewards, stories of the kingdom stores of our life. I'm not my own block for the price got has safety. He died for my sins, he purchased me back from this, the failures of life. I member of his big Mike, big Mike was a guy in an Bible school. He was a local person and he would always come the chapels and services and big Mike was a hitman for the Mafia, and he used an engine and whatever he is, I wasn't too bright, but you certainly don't want to be mad at you, but he would try to set there sometimes and he would just be like this impact of the spirit of God within them. He jumped Thursday and he would say I bought with a price. He knew what was to be bought with a price, as he had. He had literally taken lives of people that people had paid in the price for and he had taken their life he himself now as a Christian realize the value of what had been paid for him and his life, and even bought for the price. The blood of Jesus Christ, and it is that type of capturing an attitude that gives us a perspective that we follow in our decisions. So the Romans, they thought, well, why not give God more to forget what is deep, unsteady what about doing the wrong things and I'll be happy, and we can do whatever we want, while Paul is saying no way don't do that is not to work. Such an attitude is taking advantage of God taking advantage of the grace and mercy that God has given to us. Jesus came to die in the cross. His purchasing power for our life was his death he was willing to give up who he is, so that we could become like him letting go of our sins and our failures. Seeing God 's provision for us and then allowing that provision could be used to become what God wants us in our lives. So God help Paul says in with these people were saying. Should we send pulses, no they don't know by no means or. I sure hope not, nor no way public know what is this going to continue the message Bible says if we left the country, your weight and just change residency. We've left the country. If we have left the country where sadness, sovereign, how can we still live in our old house. There know when we are forgiven. We have moved we moved locations we move from one country to another, and so we moved to another country. We can live in the same house we used to live in, so don't you realize, we packed up and left there for good. I'm free from sin capture the attitude the design of this moving out of the old house that we looked at in the Scripture was baptism. It talked about baptism. Two weeks ago we had water baptism, and you I talked about how that being lowered into baptism him. Paul talks about this with the Romans and one of our younger group that went downstairs. They were talking about while I was there at the pastor 's drownings and take about what you know, work faster but the people underwater and held him down there yes I was there to draw things. Now it's baptism into death, so now it is like yelp pastors drownings, they'll know that's the other basis I would probably wasn't drowning them out. We had a brought them out right now. Why wasn't drowning them. Now some of you better watch out as when I baptize you are my votes down while in the of her present at the drownings in and in all perceptions that the perception I may find ten -year-old middle, but how many perceptions do we hold in our acting out and living our life that are just in their own lives and the lives of that to that little nice young lady that perception with pastors driving these people, but it'll probably brings them up, but there was this thought drowning again comments on our faith and how much of what our perceptions are about God, about the church about prayer about getting about living for God, how much of our perceptions are still in those infantile places a soldier is a soldier 's soldier as a soldier, a soldier when he signed up for the military or as a soldier, a soldier after training. After being deployed after combat. After returning home that a soldier when is a soldier, a soldier when is a Christian the Christian belt. Of course we are a soldier when we sign on the line, but we've not been not enough. You don't ship them why you sign a Linux legend at least do that in first world war, second world wars and conflicts, you know, you just throw them in the battle. We got their name on the line there a soldier, but not really. We are Christians because of our dedication to Christ and how the Christ has has come to work in our life and how he has changed us from old way of life to a new and so we are in this progression, no, and at the term is called sanctification, which is separation that Christ is coming to our life and we are separating ourselves the distancing ourselves from our own country from our old way of life and we are drawing closer to Christ. It isn't just distancing ourselves from the things that are wrong, but we are drawing closer to Christ. And as we draw closer to Christ. We want our perceptions. The change we want our perceptions about life and about our relationship with God about the Scriptures to change it out. We can hold all perceptions, we can hold onto those old ways and all they do is end up tripping us up and causing us to fall flat on our face and causing us to walk away from the church and causing us to leave God into the no. I remember whenever for my brothers and I had three older brothers and they all wouldn't go to church because of what happened in the church when they were growing up and to me, I just wasn't smart enough to know the difference. I just kept going up. It was just one of those things that they are in an Brothers perceptions every one of them have have talked about their perceptions of what happened and they were teenagers. Then I'll talk about them home. At that perception kept the door closed and their life to a relationship with Christ. Anything is our perception and how do we know our perceptions are off out as a little child know that the past is not trying to drown people if no one talks and they never bring it up while no to drowning. What if they never had someone else to explain to them. It's a baptism. What if someone never challenge that with what the truth is, and in our lives. What is the truth that God is trying to challenge and our perceptions. What is the truth that keeps us from being one hundred percent committed to Christ, knowing that we are dead with Christ, our old nature. Our old man is crucified with Christ on the cross. What has to happen for us to see our death with Christ on the cross. How does our perceptions become challenged and changed, and that's what God wants us to do it. We captured an attitude that has kept us prisoner, our attitude has kept us prisoner that has kept us from that close relationship with God where God has to be the one who frees us from our sin God frees us from those problems, comments defects, situations that have the way of our progression in our relationship with God. Remember we are making decisions in light of eternity, not in the frozen class that never changes the frozen past that never changes. You can ask somebody. Now I God, whatever this one lady of this is about thirty eight years ago. So wasn't near and I've ever visiting her in her home and she said you know, isolating, and yet you only come to church. Maybe once a month, once a victory for weeks and is yeah yeah I know I symbol why she says well Bible says no being guilty judge for what you know as yet. She's why want to know too much. True story. I don't do much if I don't know to much. I can't be judged to put too heavily. So I went out to so I'm a earthlike, you think that's really got to help you really think that staying away because you don't want to utilize here means the urine of the key imagine what she is the attitude that she has captured you see, she's got her hand in the Brown. She's got that perception is not allowed to go. This is what an end. The Romans were saying, well, you know, God really likes to forgive sin. Let's keep on sending it around. They were stuck in their fall, saying out loud, I was not that way you die with Christ in baptism. You were baptized, and that all of nature is that you are risen with Christ, and a it's a new use with the new person going on the inside lad Howell of those things that hold you captive and captivates a new thought capture taken by for us who work the new thought the new nature that Christ has given you don't allow something to come and steal it from you so we are separated from sin drawn closer to Christ. No, it is and how you look. It is and how you dress while you got to know one of the that the youth conference there at the at the General Counsel the one nine one lady was speaking together seven thousand kids, they're teenagers and death, not kids. Their teens and she said some of you at some of the girls issue selling. This is if you dress a certain way, the boy who's next feud isn't worried about your spirituality, he says, she said where something that covers stuff up. Okay. And then of course she was not in the boys about how they should act and consider themselves like men. And now that they are to do and say whatever and with the hope was was funny. The girls Latin guys left and it was good night. Instead very well could you did laugh and you didn't respond, so, but he got the idea I am yard to dress a certain way. The art act a certain way and you are to be a certain way because you have captured an attitude you want people to want to capture a thought. You want to capture a perspective verse six says could be a clear note also stated that the Romans could have been any clearer our old way of life was nailed to the cross of Christ. What is it take for us to see what God has done for us. What does it take for us to grab the conclusion that I am dead to my old way of life because God is forgiven me that no longer has any influence over me now. The purpose of that is that Weeden said he presents itself. Everybody just tempted if there's somebody here is not tempted your debt and start over in one of the burial sometime this week, but if you get accepted your life. Attempted, although anybody are not tempted Nancy, you're a living so Rob B tempted not to come but giving in to temptation, which had defeated ourselves differently, we can now bomb does not undo that make up my mind. It isn't your mind. It's your spirit same spirit, the race price in the dad is the same spirit that lives in new greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world it is it is the power of God that sets us free. It is the spirit of God that gives us life, and we whisper about this in Sunday school that when God created us, he created man, he prayed, and in the breath of life became a living soul in this living soul longs to hear the voice of God. This living soul lives on the spirit of God this living soul longs to hear the Scripture and the Scripture and the life that is in Christ is a mallet. You know the beatings will continue until the attitude changes. That's not God, my sheep hear my voice, the spirit of God speaks to our spirit we know this is right now because we took a poll in the newspaper, but because God has spoken to one hearts and were going to go in that direction. In light of where I'm going to spend eternity have a direction for my life. Not how I have failed not how things are gone wrong. We forgive. God forgives. We let them go. Forget letting go, letting go, okay, why do we have to forget forget that we have to forgive until the pain goes away. I got exposed to forgive seventy times seven. We have to forgive until the pain goes away. So every time I remember my past and I remember those things that hurt me. I keep forgiving until I don't hurt anymore and that heart can no longer influence anything in the present sold. Therefore, I keep forgetting myself and others on the past on and I can you get we can do this on our own. Only God can give this to you. Only God can help you forget because we are forgiving as God has forgiven us were only reflecting what is already come to a cell. We are reflecting the forgiveness of God is given to me. Therefore I forgive them you think I will forgive them for what they did to me. They deserve punishment. Now that's my attitude. I don't want to capture that God 's attitude is forgiven as I've forgiven you and go on, but I remember a thing. He forgiven. Keep forgetting keep forgetting capture an attitude what I've said is God wanted to capture well, look here. It's in a given chapter verse six it says it maybe be anything, the clear our old way of life was nailed to the cross of Christ. The decisive into that sin miserable life. Sin miserable life you know the world paints soon as something attractive, but it every aspect of sin becomes a torment and addiction or destructive. Everything aspect of of faith brings life for giving us newness of life in the future, what we believe is this if we get in, and if widget included in Christ Salem conquering death. If we get included in Christ sale of conquering death. His death upon the cross conquered sin, I am relying upon that two call percent in wildlife. We also get included in his life saving resurrection no longer me that limit, but Christ who lives within me. I am his. Now and for forever I am safe in God 's hands. I will live today I will live tomorrow and I will live forever. Even if this oldest person dies. I don't die same in the shot. You don't buy either the body may go away but the spirit in us. Everything is life in us is meant to live forever, because God breathed into you the breath of life while you were yet in your mother 's womb. He formed you he put everything in there that needs to be there and life situations brings up to the surface and God 's Spirit in his word. Put that together to create fullness of life and create tab create new life and create great alive to relive this would be a blessing, and that we are good stewards of all the putting the package now so capture attitudes. The attitude of Christ. He loves me, he forgives me. He has a purpose for my life and he is a future for me and then a man lets them the latitude you capture the fear you one you are building will be late. I captured in which I captured in the Avon. Even the update. I know that but are capturing capture and attitude capture something good hold on to for dear life, and then father, thank you for loving us. Thank you for holding us close to you. Thank you God for your forgiveness and grace and mercy bless us this day and bless our walk with you. You must hold for today and hope for tomorrow in the light of eternity. We pray in Jesus name. It may send a man, Thailand government, not even my capture the Yukon. You keep that upLastly guy I spoke about about capturing an attitude. While this is capturing the attitude, the sequel part two, and whenever we think about capturing an attitude. I was a given. The concept of how that often we think that attitudes are something that we just pick up from situations that attitudes are something that we have that reflects on how we deal with situations and although we deal with life. You keep that up
