Psalm 119:17-18
17) Do good to your servant. I will live and I will obey your word.
18) Open my eyes, That I may see wondrous things out of your law.
Luke 8:40-56
40) It happened, as Jesus returned, the multitude welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him.
41) Behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus‘ feet, and begged him to come into his house,
42) for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the multitudes thronged him.
43) A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living on physicians, and could not be healed by any,
44) came behind him, and touched the fringe of his cloak, and immediately the flow of her blood stopped.
45) Jesus said, "Who touched me?" When all denied, Peter and those with him said, "Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?‘"
46) But Jesus said, "Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me."
47) When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
48) He said to her, "Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace."
49) While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue‘s house came, saying to him, "Your daughter is dead. Don‘t trouble the Teacher."
50) But Jesus hearing it, answered him, "Don‘t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed."
51) When he came to the house, he didn‘t allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, John, James, the father of the girl, and her mother.
52) All were weeping, and mourning her, but he said, "Don‘t weep. She isn‘t dead, but sleeping."
53) They laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
54) But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying, "Little girl, arise!"
55) Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat.
56) Her parents were amazed, but he charged them to tell no one what had been done.
Luke 8:8-15
8) Other fell into the good ground, and grew, and brought forth fruit one hundred times." As he said these things, he called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"
9) Then his disciples asked him, "What does this parable mean?"
10) He said, "To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest in parables; that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.‘
11) Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
12) Those by the road are those who hear, then the devil comes, and takes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.
13) Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root, who believe for a while, and fall away in time of temptation.
14) That which fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
15) That in the good ground, these are such as in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it tightly, and bring forth fruit with patience.

What Scripture is on the time of my sermon is open not open my eyes, Lord, there's a song that goes with that of mile high Lord that you know of my years and things like that. They were able to hear and to see what what God is speaking to us. The Scripture that we have is Psalm one nineteen versus seventeen and eighteen. It is the generous with me and I'll live a full life, not for a minute. Will I take my eyes off your road open my eyes so I can see what you showed me all of your miracles, wonders, and then in Luke chapter eight beginning at verse forty through verse fifty six and Jesus is returning to Galilee. It is on his return. Jesus was walking by a crowd. They were all there, expecting him a man came up. Jerry is by name. He was president of the meeting place. He fell at Jesus feet and begged him to come to his home because his twelve -year-old daughter was his only child was dying Jesus went with him and making his way through the pushing and jostling crowd of pages here making his way through the pushing jostling crowd in the crowd that they were Oz was a woman who for twelve years, had been afflicted with hemorrhages. She had spent every penny she had on the doctor, but no one had been able to help her. She slipped in from behind and touched the edge of Jesus Roe, and that very moment her hemorrhaging stopped. Jesus said, who touched me when not one step forward Peter said master with dot prompt. The people on our hands. Dozens have touched you. Jesus insisted someone touched me. I thought power discharge from the when the woman realized that she couldn't remain hidden. She kept e-mail trembling before him in front of all the people she blurted out her story why she touched him and how at the same moment she was healed. Jesus said daughter you took a risk trusting me and now you're healed whole live well lived last while he was still talking someone from the leader 's house came up and told him your daughter died. No need now to bother the teacher Jesus overheard and said don't be upset. Just trust me and everything will be all right. Going into the house. He would let anyone enter in with him except Peter, James and John and the child's parents. Everyone was crying and carrying on overheard. Jesus said, don't cry. She didn't die, she's sleeping. They laughed at him. They knew she would. She had died. They knew she was dead. Then Jesus, gripping her hand called my daughter, my dear child to get up she was up in an instant up and breathing again. He told them to give her something to eat. Her parents were a static but Jesus warned them to keep quiet. Not to don't tell a soul what happened in this room don't. Whatever we think of this characteristic of not telling our opening our eyes will start with that one opening our eyes. There are so many things that we don't see now I know if spoken on this whole concept a couple of times. You know there a lot of topics, despite our topic for a few weeks of reminding us that there are things going on around us and we only see portions of them are we only see a reflection of the and we don't see them completely. So I asked José to find me couple of pictures that will show us one thing or another. So what you see what's what. What color was a yellow and him with my employee is the way that is even again is not. First, you'll receive you'll like this one. First off, I thought Green arrow. Now you see the yellow arrows whenever you focus on the color you see a different direction, but that's on your college as I was the important thing for them, but I guess it's obvious, isn't it just as you look at it to see different things in our UC different directions. I thought you see what you focus on one color you see something while we focus we see okay. I'd will have year while both, so you see a vase or you see two faces that saw but there is amazing. The picture and an antenna challenge is that we learn something, we see initially and then do something else in the picture, and in it we spinning and this happens all the time in our everyday life in everyday situations we see things a certain way, but it doesn't necessarily mean we see the entire picture. The very obvious. It's a little more difficult. What is it to children that the woman that the woman walking away or the George Washington sports a face. I may see both. I don't see anything out of hazard too far lady glasses so. Yet he see the city in aligning easement again. Everybody said the big three train mother not then there's the nose of the phase of the mouth of a woman walking away with a woman walking away is actually his nose base event itself, but I was in the but that is part of the error only one ninth is visible, nine tenths is beneath the surface. So whatever we are approaching our life and we are telling or asking God over our eyes that we can see what are we asking for what we ask you for asking God to reveal to was what the Scriptures are saying to us, and many times we only seen parts of what God is doing. We only understand concepts and not the whole picture and an the more we know all the more we realize there isn't enough. Just like I was a I looked up the icebergs on the any Internet and your some people, some of them are like through the smallest ones you love a good dislikable blocks of life to three. Three feet out of the water, and some of them were two hundred and forty six feet above the level Soviets sought two hundred and forty six feet above how much of nine tenths of that was below the surface of the largest one was five hundred fifty one feet above sea level and go but the largest mass of ice was a hundred and eighty three by twenty three miles at night and an iceberg is basically freshwater than is frozen and been broken off and going into the ocean oh, whatever we are looking at the Scriptures were saying like the psalmist says here in verse incidents on one nineteen. Be generous with me and I'll than the full life, not for a minute. Why take my eyes off the road so we got this declaration, there were going to looking a God of order. Be focused on God and God is going to be directing us on our road and this is also my eye so I can see what you shortly of your miracle wonders, miracles, wonders of God take place in our life every day. God is with us, God is there Shelley thought what he is doing, how his word is being applied to our lives in our Sunday school lesson this morning. It was. I was a very important lesson because were speaking about the war was being about God 's attributes and whenever we think of the attributes God 's character and God. Once we get when we understand the character that would begin to understand the promises in the Scriptures and in why when God says he wants us that why is God love us is because of his nature. It's his character. Whenever we send God is faithful. It's impossible for God not to be faithful to us because that's his character. Whenever we would think that we are alone, it's impossible for us to be alone is God you never leave us nor forsake us that his character is everywhere present at the same point the same time so whatever we know we look at. These are not just isolated promises given to us. They are the character of God, and these promises in the Scriptures reveal to us what that character X who that character is what the qualities of God are just like as we look at those arrows, you know, we focused on one color they were all going in one direction but you saw the other collar direction, immediately shift so in our lives. We want to understand what the character of God is the quality of God. He opened my eyes, Lord, show me what your miracle show me your miracle wonders, and in our text today we have two stories interwoven that Jesus is came he came across the Sea of Galilee. On one side of the Sea of Galilee is this miracle. Many performs with this wild man of the tunes and the people of object began harassing the Garris actor whatever forget I brought out the banana, Gary Zack Garrett, your radiance radians guy irradiance will called irradiance and now they are on. They've asked Jesus to leave, they'll want him on their side event on the seat. They want him to leave because what he has done in the healing of this. This wild man of germs in the meadow, and anyhow they has to believe that's that's another story for another day. So when Jesus comes across the sea the sea of Galilee. When he gets across Tennessee. There is this whole problem. They're expecting in the town they want him to be there and that's where we are in our lesson today or in our Scripture today Luke chapter eight. On his return. Jesus was walking by a crowd. They were all they were all they were all there, expecting him. So Jesus has arrived and now everybody's excited to see what a different perspective from just a few miles away from across the sea. A man came up to him. Jared by name. He was president of the meeting place while he was the leader of the local synagogue and he was there and he had a problem yet young, very real problem. He was, he fell at Jesus feet and begged him to come to see to his home because his twelve -year-old daughter his own I was dying. Now there's different stories and coming with people approaching Jesus in different ways and in another, I thought of is this the Centurion who was ruler you know Roman soldier who was ruler over a hundred soldiers and he said my daughter 's Jan. Another situation is in my daughter 's sick, but you can only become you to say the word and my daughter will be healed. Thank in this situation. Jerry has says Jesus, you better come to my house. No, Jesus doesn't say what you know you don't have the faith of Darius, the audio lab jacket on the fate of the Roman soldier. If you have that much faith that when he reneged to go to your daughter to talk to your daughter to razor, but seeing Jesus doesn't put anybody down or younger people. Jesus conflict with is really the religious people and try to put him in a corner in a box and and say this is God. In this got supposed to do things and he has a problem with them because they are always trying to get him them to fit into these religious leaders always trying to make Jesus fit into their concepts and Jesus is saying no, you've got to understand who I am in this case, the roar of the synagogue 's daughters dying and Jesus went with it, making his rounds across all on a VR vendor concerts that big groups of problem people in everybody's apologetic: sorry, and audit me to bump into many. Now we write you that any of the jostling you for space in that they are very here you are in Accra when you are being pushed and shoved then you're just going along and in whatever while this live picture. The crowd here with Jesus. There's just some people, disciples are crowded around Jesus trying to protect him from the portion of people. So there is this crowd around Jesus and their try and end there. They want to touch them. They want to hear him. They want to yell the audio disc. I have to say, and they're all excited well in the crowd. There was a woman who for twelve years within afflicted with hemorrhaging. Now she had a bleeding disorder, and in our days, you'd probably an individual who would be eligible for a D&C or for a hysterectomy or something like that, that she would have to go through the surgeries in order to be fixed as it were on her condition, but there was no such surgeries at that time so this this this order, that she had was very restricting to her because the law said because she had this is disorder. She was not allowed in public places. She was not allowed in public places and saw her restrictions on her life were were great and it also says that she had spent every penny on doctors, but no one was able to help her, so she tried everything that she could to rid herself of this, it could cure this illness to cure this condition, but she couldn't do it now. I can only imagine that people that have bleeding disorders. They are very weak, frail, she had this disorder for over twelve years and so I says that she had slept in from behind to try and touch the edge of Jesus Roe now the last thing you want to do when you're in a crowd on your hands and knees, you know, people been trampled and Walmart for less on Black Friday, which is the Friday after Thanksgiving and the modern travel is not over and crowds because they ended up on their hands and knees and so here is this woman who went out on how well if you're going to touch the hem of somebody's garment, if you're going to touch the bottom of Jesus Ronald, you have to be on the ground. You're not walking up there. Excuse me, I've been over here, you know she's got to be on the ground and probably being trampled she's a woman. She has no place being there anyhow because our places out on the ground. The men or their present customs and she has this bleeding disorder so she should be in this crowd anyhow, she's not to be around people so you should guess having to go through these difficulties are pushing through the crowd and I'm ever years ago I approached, I am an priest on the sermon preached this message in it and I talked about how that that the crowds about come into our lives. They crowd into our lives and other. We have to push through the and how that we have to well here in this situation I I look at it that she hadn't been on the grounds and perhaps he was being trampled. I don't know. Doesn't say it just says that when she talks she slipped in from behind and touched the edge of the Robo Jesus, she had to fight her way through to get there and probably the only way she could fight your way through was not shoulder to shoulder, but was on her knees and trying to work her way through this group of people to trust the edge of his row at that very moment the hemorrhaging stop, and Jesus answers hemorrhaging stop and Jesus said, who touched me the difference in how people touched Jesus as a deference to see there is a whole crowd of people around Christ. But there is there are certain times in our life that it's it's a desperation. It's a desperate point in which we are looking for change. We desire change and you're just hearing the word of God like we are here today. Hearing the word of God. These the hearing of God 's Word brings change in our life. Whether we realize it or not, it is causing us to have faith. It's causing us to understand from a different perspective and so bodies. They are working in our life and in Jesus, the always disciples is basically saying is that here on one window one step forward, Peter said master, we've got crowds of people on our hands doesn't have touched you is like Jesus, you're not everybody's touching you, but there's a difference between the curious and the desperate, there's a difference between a curious onlookers. The curious crowd that he will bear the one to the curious of the people when things really go wrong. You know what I prayed once and then work is heard people tell that when I prayed and nothing worked. While you know, we tried God, and didn't work very well on this is those the curious and there a lot of people who were curious in the crowd, but this one says that something happened. Verse forty seven one I heard to heart talk about that virtue flew from flowed out from Jesus, you see any this chapter in the first verses in chapter eight versus beginning in verse eight. Jesus is talking about the deceit with the spoken on this. Probably about six months ago I believe it says this is the sea that is so an escape of the Psalm says, here are you listening to this really listening his disciples as well. Why didn't you tell us a story. He said you've been given insight into God 's kingdom. You know how it works. There are others who need stories. But even with stories, some of them aren't going to get it. Their eyes are not open his leader eyes are open, but they don't see a thing. Their years are open, but they don't hear a thing. When we speak of in the psalmist over my eyes so I can see what you show me of your miracle wonders using the stories about some of the people. The seed is the word of God. This seems on the road are those who hear the word, but no sooner do they hear than the devil snatches it from and they don't and they won't believe and be saved. She comes into our life. The word of God, a seed planted in our life we see in the crowd of people. There are people touching Jesus and nothing really changes in their life, like the people here in this seed on the Road. Some of them there that once off in the distance that we spoke about when Jesus called Lazarus from the dead. There are religious leaders who say, you know what I got killed Jesus. Now he's just too powerful. The seed is on the road and smashed immediately from them. This is in the gravel. Those who hear with enthusiasm, but with enthusiasm doesn't go very deep. That's only a fast verse fourteen and the seed that fell in the weeds. These are the ones who hear, but then the seed in the end, it is crowded out and nothing comes of it crowded out hearing Jesus touching him, but nothing really changes the course verse fifteen, but the seed on the good Earth. These are the good hearts, who sees the word and hold on no matter what sticking with it until there is a harvest. That's the woman who's on her knees sticking with it until she touches the hem of Jesus. She doesn't know what's going to happen, but she knows she has to touch him. Jerry has his daughter is sick. I don't know what's going to happen, but he needs to come to my house to see these are the challenges that they come to our life and every time we hear the word of God, to present an option for us. It presents a challenge for us. And yes, this is not easy, and sometimes it's not easy. Sometimes it's not easy to believe. And sometimes it's not easy to find through the doubts and and and and the problems and in the discouraging thoughts that come sometimes it's hard to break through those doubts that surround our faith, and we have to do the work and on her knees on hands and knees and reach out and touch him and whenever we touched Jesus. There is a virtue. There is the spirit of God bears witness with our spirit that we are his daughter 's son. We are his child. That's how they do words are like this is virtue, the flows into my life that there is hope there. It wasn't there before. Now that the needs are not the same. We don't have is aware here the death of the child or we don't have this illness where she is bleeding to death the slow pace, but there are problems in our life, whether they are tragic for ongoing. There are there are needs in our life that we need to touch Jesus and allow the virtue of who he is of his character and his word to flow into our life and we change here. It says the woman realized verse forty seven that she couldn't remain hidden, she and so Jesus may hear, as the work come forward. It was important for her to stand out in the crowd. She knelt trembling before him in front of all the people she blurted out her story. They go to stone her for this being there in a public place with her condition. She's talking why she spoke about why she touched him and how the moment that she touched him that she was healed. You see, Jesus wanted to affirm to her and to all of them. She isn't the center stage here, her need is not the center stage here Jesus is and it wasn't his role, the type that made her well. It was virtue that flowed through Christ because of her faith is the best life we know I liked what many things that the commissioners advised last week, but I like how he used illustration that in olden times. Whenever they made their idols. They believed that there was virtue or power in the item and if they touched or happy. I don't get to touch them, but the idols were pieces of stone and wood. There was no life, the life is in Jesus. And when we pray we touch him. Things change in our life virtue flows to us from Christ. What if he's alive, so it wasn't. It wasn't the robe. It was her faith and it wasn't it was Christ that touched or wasn't then the need of ours. She wasn't centerstage. Jesus is. Jesus said daughter you took a risk trusting me and now you're healed and whole live well lived last Saint God was a God is a way of blessing on us whenever we have this touch in our life but immediately, something else happens to these two miracles are interwoven here. And while it was still talking while he still telling her about the wonderful things of women, while in the blast and all those things while you still talking someone from the leader 's house came up and told him your daughter has died. There's no need to bother the teacher and Jesus overhead and overheard and said don't be upset. Just trust me and everything will be all right. What is Jesus doing he is affirming the faith that brought the man to him in the first place. Don't look at the circumstance she just like the woman in life. It's interesting how that these these two miracles are interwoven it would be easy for people to become distracted the war or pushed aside, it would be easy for her to be truck pushed aside the cause of the crowd, and it would be easy for various to stop the need has no need now your daughters by so there were many reasons why we should stop our faith. There's many reasons why we should stop believing or stop thinking the way we do, but it's not going to happen. Jesus said don't pay attention to what they're telling you just trust me and everything will be all right iceberg one. What is that one can want to does what we see nine fences underneath in our life. There is just a small portion of what we see is really the value of what is going on. So here you would think while this is the whole iceberg. Your daughter and you know that the problem is over. Your daughter is God Jesus, not us. Not that that's not it. So what did Jesus do going into the house. He wouldn't let anyone enter anything with them except Peter, James and John and the child's parents. You see, we have to shut out the doubts the naysayers with the shutout the people. The crowd. The crowd that is there the curious ones. The people who are telling you what you believe in God for why what you put your vanguard, why, why does this happen in your life don't get worried about this stuff. Three focus on what the promise of God is that brings you to that place that brings your Job place where God is speaking referred to as flow has come into your life and given you hope focus on that shot out the people who are in who are the people Jesus shuts out. Everyone was crying and carrying on overheard Jesus is don't try actually, then dies, you sleeping. They laughed at him. They laughed at his words in our life. People laugh at our faith. Sometimes people laugh at the things that give us our greatest strength. So what happened. Jesus, gripping her hand called her and says my dear child, get up, she was up in an instance up and breathing again. You see the seeds of faith that fall into our life are seeds that bring and sprouts life. We need to keep on allowing God to work in us keep allowing God to work in our lives. And no matter what happens we shut out the doubts pushed through the crowds and is aware beyond our knees and touching him. Now is an interesting thing and would close with this. He told him to get her something to eat. I was a good part. Her parents were static, the Jesus warned them to keep why don't tell us. So what happened in this room. Why would he do this, people began to focus on Jesus is simply the miracle worker, it is it is not, and we think about all the things we pray for today and the people. It is that the miracles that change people 's lives. It's the word of God. The changes our lives. If God 's word doesn't change us a miracle won't change a thing, because once, when we are too soon. We, too, so forget the good things of God 's love for us. We are quick for debtors if were fed today by God. Tomorrow were very hungry again. We want them to do it all over again. We always want these signs and wonders, and they are good and they do follow God they do follow his word, but they follow his word. The word creates our faith, the word of God changes us, challenges us. We moles are thinking because if they were only the miraculous well with a God performer miracle. Every would believe Jesus called Lazarus out of the two. They said we got a killer. He raises his daughter from the dead, but they don't mail no as everything changed. Now the woman are the issue of blood that all those people believe all the become converts know they had needs, but is the word of God that changes our life from the inside out. It is the word of God becomes the last if that virtue the flows into our life that gives us hope you see the truth is more than he wanted people to the trip is more than just a miracle. He wanted people to listen to his words, that the word that they would, that the word would heal their broken spirit. Give them hope and help them in their daily lives, but God is with me, he will never leave me nor forsake me, these are the characters of God. The characteristic of God, and that character surrounds us holds us and gives us life. So was there was an illustration that went with this. It said that when the child's life was gone. It was that the light of the candle had gone out to see life doesn't go out. Life is never extinguished your life will never go out your life will live on for an eternity. What happened was Jesus brought the light back to the candle. He brought the flame back to the Kendal in our life. The candle never the light never disappears our life when it is over goes to be with God, and in this life. It is the word of God. It continues to be the fuel of our life that gives us hope and gives us life that is eternal and the word of God, not the miraculous and God doesn't perform the miraculous, but it is the word of God that brings virtue to our life. Anything that virtue that we have hope so, when, where, however, hands and knees and we touched the very him of his garment virtue flows to us makes everything different father, thank you for your virtue that touches our life. Thank you for the virtue that flows to us through your word through your people by your spirit. You touch us. We ask God your blessing to be with us now and your virtue to flow through us, we pray in Jesus name. Everyone said amen Blessed, happy ThanksgivingWhat Scripture is on the time of my sermon is open not open my eyes, Lord, there's a song that goes with that of mile high Lord that you know of my years and things like that. Everyone said amen Blessed, happy Thanksgiving
