2 Corinthians 10:12
12) For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.
Galatians 1:11-12
11) But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the gospel which was preached by me, that it is not according to man.
12) For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:5
5) For we don‘t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus‘ sake.
Psalm 39:5
5) Behold, you have made my days handbreadths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath." Selah.
Acts 1
1) The first book I wrote, Theophilus, concerned all that Jesus began both to do and to teach,
2) until the day in which he was received up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
3) To these he also showed himself alive after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and spoke about God‘s kingdom.
4) Being assembled together with them, he charged them, "Don‘t depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me.
5) For John indeed baptized with water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
6) Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?"
7) He said to them, "It isn‘t for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within His own authority.
8) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."
9) When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10) While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,
11) who also said, "You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky."
12) Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day‘s journey away.
13) When they had come in, they went up into the upper chamber, where they were staying; that is Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.
14) All these with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary, the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
15) In these days, Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (and there was a multitude of persons gathered together, about one hundred twenty), and said,
16) "Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was guide to those who took Jesus.
17) For he was numbered with us, and received his portion in this ministry.
18) Now this man obtained a field with the reward for his wickedness, and falling headlong, his body burst open, and all his intestines gushed out.
19) It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called ‘Akeldama,‘ that is, ‘The field of blood.‘
20) For it is written in the book of Psalms, ‘Let his habitation be made desolate, Let no one dwell therein,‘ and, ‘Let another take his office.‘
21) Of the men therefore who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us,
22) beginning from the baptism of John, to the day that he was received up from us, of these must one become a witness with us of his resurrection."
23) They put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24) They prayed, and said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two you have chosen
25) to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas fell away, that he might go to his own place."
26) They drew lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
Acts 2
1) Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2) Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3) Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and it sat on each one of them.
4) They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
5) Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.
6) When this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.
7) They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Behold, aren‘t all these who speak Galileans?
8) How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?
9) Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,
10) Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11) Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!"
12) They were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, "What does this mean?"
13) Others, mocking, said, "They are filled with new wine."
14) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke out to them, "You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15) For these aren‘t drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day.
16) But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
17) ‘It will be in the last days, says God, I will pour forth of my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.
18) Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.
19) I will show wonders in the the sky above, And signs on the earth beneath; Blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.
20) The sun will be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21) It will be, that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.‘
22) "You men of Israel, hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him in the midst of you, even as you yourselves know,
23) him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;
24) whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
25) For David says concerning him, ‘I saw the Lord always before my face, For he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
26) Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope;
27) Because you will not leave my soul in Hades, Neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.
28) You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.‘
29) "Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30) Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
31) he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was his soul left in Hades, nor did his flesh see decay.
32) This Jesus God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33) Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured forth this, which you now see and hear.
34) For David didn‘t ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit by my right hand,
35) Until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet."‘
36) "Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified."
37) Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what will we do?"
38) Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39) For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself."
40) With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation!"
41) Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
42) They continued steadfastly in the apostles‘ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
43) Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
44) All who believed were together, and had all things common.
45) They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.
46) Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
47) praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.

This is a machine transcript of the sermon. It won't be completely accurate of what's said in the sermon.
Him this morning, I was warned not to apologize for preaching because I was one of somehow saying I'm sorry about something so without apologies. This morning render things little differently than usual as K I now being that I get to spend my Sunday nights with our youth group that we call TS why I figured I wanted to something up a little bit the way we do it rocketed. I resent the way we do it downstairs on Sunday nights is because that might be sensory overload or something. I'm not sure what one ask you some questions. If they seem coming there's nothing irreverent with the idea of asking questions when pastors traditionally preaching a sermon. All I ask you a few questions this morning and Alaska don't put that question up yet. Emma, if you want to question the screen. Would you type up there. Would you rather obtain it without on the screen what you rather this again called, would you rather we like to play on Sunday nights and youth group always find these are very efficient things to get us to count was not relaxed little bit let down our guard. It is tough sometimes get Ashley unwind a little bit joking. I don't worry I watch the videos of the Sunday night. We did duct tape and Oreos, and we see the videos I post it on on on. Okay, we pray some crazy games with with duct tape and Oreos, and it was good. I told you there is biblical inspiration and update friends there. There is and then we found out about that night, but that's beside the point. We want to duct tape and Oreos, although I hear we do Oreos on Wednesday nights now true if you are on Facebook for our church page on their first Assembly of God click the like button. Join up. You can watch videos of things we do and you can get information is coming down the pike is forced upward in your church, but would you rather be ready not last answers and questions now only play would you rather you have to and yet still in the middle the room when I asked the question, and you have to run to one side of the room or the other to establish your position on this subject. Okay this morning. I'm not going to ask you to stand up or sit down. I will not ask you to stand up and run one side of the room or the other day, not just welcome to get them to respond these adults can we actually asked them up. This arm disarm note that Julieta 's were responding what it will respond verbally look at my ISP would you rather questions I hypothetical scenarios that are out there okay what you rather always take a cold shower or sleep an hour less than you need to be rested, so you'd rather get the hour of rest that you need to be rested, then take a cold shower or you'd rather do the cold shower to get caught up on what it is about sleep. I would like done. Once the money they get to our sleep. I don't know. I don't I I is thirty nine pipeline. I don't sleep anymore. I'm united this is the pattern of life is this what's can happen kids on felony. What made about an old run of and I love this. I love I love you back on regular I do I like getting off daylight savings time get back America. But this year as I said I was trying to Tracy was morning. This year I will have a harder time making a switch on the bed every night this week, eight o'clock awake at three you know, and so for three hours. What you do for freeing a half hours before you leave for work in the morning we can make noise because the family sleeping in, just between you mean I can't see her face once that Stephanie doesn't do well when you wake her up at him. So I walk on eggshells integrate acquired time for for for study in the morning in prayer, but certainly you know it's also easy to fall asleep during devotionals. One expect why analysis is okay also. Anyhow that's that's where MetLife and honestly I would deal with you always rather get the first bids on something or the last laugh. Okay, I won't when you rather always have to say everything that's on your mind for or never speak again. So when you always rather say everything you think, or never speak again what that this sign language count on it. Might my darling Emma got a little love sign language book two 's learnings and American sign language. I don't know if that counts are not leave it to José to get really technical on you. Okay. When you always rather where it earmuffs or nose plugs wow, that was like a very, when you rather be buried like I'm heading for the point here again in the greatest. We are we are heading toward a Biblical conclusion friends trust, but I got a note I got a be mean here so not apologizing. This is just sort of how we do it in youth group, but not mere. The madness and when you rather be three feet tall or eight feet tall. I don't. When you rather be, would you rather be a dog named killer or a cat named fluffy. The guys were killer show a man's kudos for floppy day I I I heard him. Would you rather would you rather be able to hear any conversation or take back anything you said, would you rather be able to hear any conversation you want or have the ability to take back anything that I would rather take back anything up. Would you rather be with when you rather be forgotten or you rather be remembered hatefully knowing the answer allowed for the community feel that way about that. Okay, when you rather be happy for eight hours a day and poor or sad for eight hours a day and rich. This is happy for us to Saddam Rich is okay and if the young people beyond before going to thought that all I like using you what you want my former youth members actually over there. She's like C's you want with them, so it must be Brandon unfired. Okay, you're going. Would you rather be stranded on an island would you rather be stranded on an island alone or with someone that you don't like strongly. Is there anybody who wants a little bit of solitude. Okay, I trust me, I'm ready for the point here would you rather be the Sandcastle, or would you rather be the wave would you rather find true love, or ten million dollars him and okay I I what you rather looking to imagine the imagine of the guys there is in the basement and I would say would you rather find true love or find a million or find ten million dollars and you have to run. That's why we can imagine the mayhem and that as anyhow, would you don't answer this out loud, don't answer the sellout would you rather get even or get over it. My parents would you rather give bad advice or take that advice. Think about that one. If you give bad advice. Your reputations on the line again, would you I know this can be, which rather go to an amusement park or family reunion. I him him at would you rather have a beautiful house in an ugly car or a according ugly house and eighty nine, yet the last of the car or ugly, but we has been begins usually healthy car when we go with your analysis 's house was his car. You have to learn Genzyme Genzyme house okay. Would you rather have x-ray vision or bionic hearing by you when you rather know what all or have it all. Brian Re: does it all so you would rather have. Would you rather live without music or live without television and television until an apartment when owning to the television in my house. Anyhow, what the matter because his music on him. Would you rather give up your telephone or your e-mail. The e-mail on your phone now okay. Would you rather be able to only whisper or only shall say what my family that I come from we are to have the shopping down there is there is no whispering with the prices okay. Would you rather publish your diary or make a movie about your most embarrassing moment. Okay, I would you rather have one wish today, or three wishes ten years from now this is one place today who says three ten years from now what will phase of the court. Okay, my last question is this is my life. Would you rather question. Would you rather see a sermon or would you rather hear one think about this over second. Would you rather see a sermon would rather hear one now on not looking for some will looking for super spiritual answer was my son is vocalizing Zimmerman in my Sunday school class. What do we call what we call the super spiritual answer. We call it the Sunday school answer. We call it in. You can also set its way through the answer that you think Brad wants to hear. Okay, I read it will go for studies with if anybody gives a Sunday school answer what are the groups say that the Sunday school answer they get shouted down. Okay, so would you rather added on unlocked on a leading toward something here, but many people have the misconception that they can show other people the gospel in their Christian walk only by the testimony of their lives in ever the phrase practice what you preach. Put that around the other way. Preach what you practice. I heard the Mennonite brother said that once it has been in my mind for about nineteen years. Preach what you practice. He said that's our problem. He was talking about. He was talking about his denomination in itself, but it don't does not apply just to any one particular denomination or church family. It applies to all of us preach what practice some people saying you heard the phrase said they would rather see a sermon any day than here. One, what we need to be careful. I think I would say this morning that were not only practicing but that were also throwing in the bridge and normal talking about soapbox higher than valve can't stuff us know what I'm talking about, but I'm talking about a dialogue about why I live my life this way you know, I there is a danger they goes afraid the high ground. You're afraid about taking the high ground in a situation, we need to be careful that if we take the high ground, we'd be careful that we leave room for up join us on the high ground if we reserve the high ground only for ourselves, were all and everybody else is left turning game art so on. This is one driving it am, I've heard people you've heard people talk about being a good witness. I don't cut my grass on Sunday nights. That's my testimony to my neighbors that I'm a Christian, or spend there was if there was a challenge to our teenagers at the national youth convention about carrying your Bible, four hundred Israel thirty days carrying a Bible as you're all dressed up in her Sunday best to go to church letting your neighbors see you that way. And people say usually that people should be able to see Jesus in you okay however go to the New Testament and go to Jesus dealing with the religious high-minded people. The religious therapy since they are a seasoned Sadducees sometime this evening. See Jesus and Jesus the day, not really eliminated. They were convicted certainly by certain actions, but in most situations. They didn't even see Jesus and Jesus so. Second Corinthians chapter ten verse twelve. I think we have it in two different translations and I may revert to Emma as sister that's my nickname for her to shield millimeter us that might daughter on the computer and am very proud of segregation in verse twelve, says this. This is the new King James version of the Bible that my mommy got me for Christmas years ago, for we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves, but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise now, and if you put the next translation. I think it's the message of segregated than twelve reads like this where not understand putting ourselves in a league with those who boast that their hours. We wouldn't dare do that, but in all this comparing, integrating and competing I quite mess the point. The idea of seeing a sermon in a person. Instead of hearing the gospel, the good news about Jesus from a person is a dangerous idea, because it can can breathe self-righteousness because it may lead us to comparing ourselves against other people as Christians do we need to compare ourselves against others. What happens if we compare ourselves to a person 's majority faith. What we do we wind up getting into dangerous territory. We go to carefully compare a social ago because week we come in danger of getting into the judgment area whether judging ourselves are judging them and reason the judgment is an ugly nasty business because the Bible says judgment is God 's alone right. So when we are judging people. What are we saying I'm gone. That's the danger. That's why Jesus said. Don't judge to. We don't want to judge because judgment is God 's responsibility alone, not brands. Okay, it's a temptation to do that. I know it is. But when we compare as those of the people we get into really dangerous turf. We need to compare ourselves to Jesus alone, compare ourselves with the actions of Jesus and that is standard in the market. We aim for. Okay, yes, there are people in this life that we want to emulate, but we want to be careful not comparing ourselves with them, especially with anybody who's ever high-minded, not the majority faith are the majority humble Sony asked the question, Tom, all phrase that the gospel was revealed in the stars in the sky right in the minute we look away from the gospel of Jesus. The problem is broken as a question. What is it to give a good witness can be like this average working man's definition. What is it mean to give a good witness of Jesus about the youth group. We think is a good thing he needs to give the witness of Jesus, the father, the wrong answer here. Please show up others. Otherwise, we can get a good witness with our actions okay I what is it to give testimony again. There's no there's no wrong answers. It is unknown often like beat you down for saying some vocational. Okay him is to give it a clear distinction right decoration of the gospel of Jesus to do to give the witness is to give a very clear, very, you know, understandable idea. The declaration about the gospel grace about Jesus. Jesus is what Jesus has done the same us okay by doing his job to be death on the cross and to rise above the grave. Okay Galatians chapter one verses eleven to twelve]. Enter your notice, I am most emphatically, her friends, this great message. I delivered to you is not mere human optimism item receiver through the traditions that I wasn't taught it in some schoolwide artistry from God receive the message directly from Jesus Christ. This is Paul talking to the people they said the message isn't after people because eating different people. He receded from Jesus. Okay and I said in second Corinthians four five. We don't preach ourselves, but we preach what Jesus Christ is the Lord. I David said that the state of people in Psalm thirty nine five. The regular time, again eliminating my days as handprints in my age is as nothing before you certainly every man at his best state is but a vapor at our best state David said were vanity or vapor gone off. It's the idea that my actions. Friends are not enough to reveal the good news to my people that I'm around whether at work or the people that live in houses around me or person who has fought out in front of me on the highway, and then slapped on the brakes, which alone. People passive and slowdown is not the pretty get a clue about my pet peeves too little user turn signals my actions are not enough to reveal Jesus to the people around me. My actions are never enough. I have got to give good witness. So would we rather see her see a sermon than hear one. I don't agree any question we asked this morning when I asked you. Would you rather visitor would you rather than with their words very correctly answer as if fully one where the other no, they were all silly hypothetical questions right. Well, this is sort of a hypothetical situation because there isn't just one or the other. Jesus didn't just preach a sermon Jesus lived it out among the multitudes. Paul didn't just write letters. Paul lived and worked among people. Don't just write letters. We don't just stand around an open war on a soapbox and talk. We live amongst our families we work among people whether they are lovable or not as lovable as what would like for them to be, but we can't have it just one of the other. It needs to be a blend of the funniest Bobby to be for the rest of your life, your interviewer read people 's minds work here in conversation as we said in the one hypothetical situation, but we have opportunity, and the people that we come in contact with two show the sermon by my actions in to preach what I practice okay the gospel is the power of God on the salvation, so let's not let us ever get in the way of the sermon. No any let us in our actions and with our voices. Pritchett and practice at the same time don't be afraid, let me encourage you don't be afraid to open your mouth to let people know that you are a Christian, I have been guilty in my lifetime of saying that I never wanted a Christian bumper sticker on my vehicle is awesome and the way I draw a things nobody can say that I confess that the letter to work together can we do that, I'll try you try. Let's put them together and see what happens. You know, great things happen when the church is together right were here together today well and have dinner here a few moments, but the look in the book of actually having the church got together in the first chapter. The second chapter, the church got together besought God, they pray to God. Lots of people came to know God because of that the church was empowered with the power of the Holy Spirit people revealed people were saying before taking care of poor rich anemia like were taken care of because the church got together friends with stating others a fight here right so filming a Rob door is announced, there is any better moments. Okay, but Stan Jolly opened us on sorry one time that I know what happened. Sorry for my samsara of ferrousHim this morning, I was warned not to apologize for preaching because I was one of somehow saying I'm sorry about something so without apologies. Sorry for my samsara of ferrous
